Detailed Itinerary
 
Day 1 Fly Delhi to Leh 3500 meters
It is often a morning flight to Leh, which is reward, for the spectacular flight over the Indian Himalaya to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Incredibly beautiful in winter, we fly over the huge expanse of snow-capped peaks. Landing in Leh the temperature will drop dramatically and we will need our down jackets at the airport. If the weather is good and the flight goes on time we should be in Leh by early morning. We recommend you to relax or rest for acclimatise for altitude 3500 meters. Afternoon there will be an optional gentle orientation walk around Leh and its bazaars.

Day 2 In Leh 3500 meters
We begin with Thiksey monastery the most imposing structure providing a panoramic view of the Indus valley from its vantage point atop a hill. Later we are heading to 17th century Hemis Monastery, one of the biggest and richest in Ladakh. In the evening we have an opportunity to climb up to the 15th century Victory Fort, sitting above the looming 17th century Leh Palace. From there we have a bird view of Leh town.

Day 3 Drive to Yangthang & trek to Ullay 3-4hrs
Today we drive towards west follow the main road. After Liker village, we take a road further on to Yangthang 3,683m, from there we set off on foot, walking northwards surrounded by spectacular rock formations, to Ullay. Ladakh is a mountainous desert and the different coloured hills are magnificent in any light. For the first couple of hours of today walk we will come across some interesting erosion features, including pinnacles with rock boulders precariously balanced upon them. From Ullay there are wonderful southerly views over the village to the Zanskar Range. In the afternoon we can explore the village or scan the hills for ibex.

Day 4-6 In Ullay 4100 meters, In search of Snow leopard
We spend the whole day in Ullay is well known for ibex and Snow leopards have also been spotted in the area. The guides will go out in the early morning with scopes and see if they can see any tracks. There is plenty of optional walking around Ullay, either further up the valley to the grazing pastures used in summer.

Day 7 Trek to Hemis Shukpachan 3600 meters/ 4hrs
Descending walk back to Yangthang 3410 meter and trek to Hemis Shukpachen.

Day 8 Drive to Leh via Lamayuru & Alchi
Lamayuru 3500 meter is the oldest monasteries in Ladakh and known for their strategic location. In the monastery main assembly hall, were you can visit 11th century Maha Siddha Naropa cave. On the way back we visit 11th century Alchi monastery build by Tibetan translator Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo. We visit such as Sum-tsek, Verocana, and Manjushree. On the temples walls the fresco paintings are the main attractions and Alchi monastery is under the list of UNISCO.

Day 9 In Leh; Optional day
Today you have an optional day to explore Leh town or rest day in the hotel.

Day 10 Fly Leh to Delhi
We have a short drive to Leh airport, to catch the flight to Delhi. (trip conclude)
